Former Big Brother Naija winner White Money recently shared his insights on music during an Instagram Live session, where he expressed confidence in his ability to advise fellow artist Shallipopi. White Money, whose real name is Hazel Oyeye Onou, just returned from an 8-state tour in the United States, which he claims has contributed to his musical exposure.
In the live session, a clip of which has since gone viral, White Money commented on Shallipopi’s success, attributing it not to vocal talent but to the artist’s charisma and swagger. “Like Shallipopi, he doesn’t have a wonderful voice but once he holds that mic and says ‘Plutomanians’… It’s just the swag. Do you think it’s by voice? It’s not by voice,” he said.
White Money asserted that his recent experiences touring the U.S. position him as a more musically knowledgeable figure compared to Shallipopi, allowing him to offer valuable advice. “I am in a good position to advise him because I am more exposed musically and entertainment-wise,” he stated, adding that the relationship could be mutually beneficial, with Shallipopi also able to offer him guidance.
Despite his aspirations, White Money has yet to achieve mainstream success in his music career, much like many of his fellow Big Brother Naija alumni. Nevertheless, his latest comments reflect his determination to establish himself as a serious contender in the music industry, aiming for the heights of a Grammy-winning star.
