Ondo Poll: APC, PDP Trade Accusations Over Alleged Planned Violence

-

As the Ondo State governorship election approaches on November 16, tensions are rising between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The PDP has accused the ruling APC of planning to incite violence during the election.

A statement from Ayo Fadaka, the Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to the PDP Campaign Organisation, called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and stop Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa from using state resources to create security disruptions. The PDP also urged the Inspector General of Police and other security agencies to take proactive measures against potential violence.

In response, APC’s Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro, dismissed the allegations as baseless and an attempt to distract the governor. He emphasized that Governor Aiyedatiwa remains committed to peace and security, urging the PDP to focus on policy-driven campaigns rather than accusations.
