NPFL: Aweroro Talks Down Ikorodu City’s Title Aspiration

-

Ikorodu City head coach, Nurudeen Aweroro, has played down his team’s chances of challenging for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title this season. Despite the Oga Boys moving to third position following a 4-1 victory over Akwa United, Aweroro emphasized that the team’s focus remains on securing consistent results rather than targeting the title.

“We are not mounting any title challenge as we just want to win games and remain in the league,” Aweroro said in a post-match interview. He expressed satisfaction with the victory but clarified that the team’s primary goal is to maintain their presence in the league.

Ikorodu City will next face Bayelsa United as they continue their campaign in the NPFL.
