Fulham defender, Calvin Bassey, believes his team deserved more than a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Despite a dominant performance from Spurs in terms of possession, Fulham created the better chances throughout the match.
The Cottagers were trailing 1-0 after Brennan Johnson’s strike in the 54th minute, which came about after Bassey was caught out of position. However, Fulham responded quickly, with Alex Iwobi assisting Tom Carney for the equalizer 13 minutes later. Carney was sent off in the final stages of the game, but Fulham held firm to earn a valuable point.
“I think we deserved more,” Bassey said in a post-match interview. “Fraser Forster made some incredible saves—three that could have been goals. We were a bit unlucky, especially with the red card when we had momentum. But we managed the game well and didn’t concede late, which has been an issue in past matches.”
