Kwara PDP Slams APC Government Over Erection of Walls Against Traders

-

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has strongly condemned the action of the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government, which recently erected walls against key business areas, including Challenge, Unity, and Post Office in Ilorin.

In a statement released by the PDP State Chairman, Babatunde Mohammed, the party labeled the move as “economic sabotage” and a deliberate effort to stifle the livelihoods of the poor and youth entrepreneurs who depend on these areas.

The PDP criticized the government for its disregard for the negative economic impact on local businesses and families, stating that the decision demonstrates a lack of empathy. The opposition party vowed to dismantle the walls if elected in 2027, promising to prioritize restoring access and creating opportunities for businesses to thrive.

The PDP also urged security agencies to protect the rights of protesting young entrepreneurs and warned that the policy could lead to increased violence and crime in the metropolis.
