John Mikel Obi has called on Chelsea to make a strong push to sign Victor Osimhen this summer. The Napoli striker has been a target for the Blues, who are reportedly interested in securing him on loan with an option to buy.
Despite the challenges posed by Osimhen’s high salary and Napoli’s hesitance regarding the buy option, Mikel Obi has urged his former team to finalize the transfer. Speaking on the Obi One Podcast, Mikel said, “I keep saying we need Victor Osimhen. Go and get Victor Osimhen. Please get that deal done because we need an out-and-out striker.”
He emphasized the importance of Osimhen’s goal-scoring abilities, noting, “He is a player that is going to get us goals. Yes, I have said it, technically maybe not the best, but in terms of goal-scoring, he will get us goals and that is what we need. We need a striker who will stay around the box like Haaland.”
