Nigerian businessman and socialite Obinna Oyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has revealed that no one in his family has lived beyond 80 years.
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwu, Obi Cubana shared that his late mother made a significant attempt to break this generational pattern but fell short, passing away at the age of 79.
He explained, “In my family, nobody has lived up to 80 years, and I’m saying this for the first time. My father died at 66, my grandmother at 75, my grandfather at 78, and the same pattern continued with my mother.”
Obi Cubana noted that his family had high hopes for his mother to break the generational jinx. They had planned an extravagant celebration for her, reflecting their belief in her potential to overcome the family’s historical lifespan limit. “We even started saving up for the celebration. She died on December 31, at 79, after celebrating 78. We felt she tried to break the jinx, so we went all out for the burial to honor her efforts,” he added.
