Afrobeats star Timaya has shared his thoughts on veteran musician Eedris Abdulkareem, claiming that the latter’s outspoken nature has cost him respect in the music industry.
In a recent interview with Naija FM, Timaya dismissed comparisons between himself and Abdulkareem, explaining, “I don’t talk like Eedris. I respect myself so people will respect me. Nobody fears him because he talks too much.”
Reflecting on their past relationship, Timaya described Abdulkareem as a former boss, stating, “When I served in his band, he didn’t build a relationship with me. People you work with should be treated like family because you don’t know tomorrow.”
Timaya emphasized that his journey to stardom included lessons from his time with Abdulkareem, but the two have no current connection.
This revelation adds to the ongoing discourse about mutual respect and professional relationships in Nigeria’s music industry.
