Chidimma Adetshina, Nigeria’s representative at the 73rd Miss Universe competition, has achieved a remarkable milestone by finishing as the first runner-up. The grand event, held at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico, culminated in an exciting showdown between Adetshina and Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, who ultimately claimed the crown.
The prestigious competition celebrated the intelligence, elegance, and talents of women from across the globe. In a post shared on Instagram, the organizers described the final moment as “unforgettable,” featuring two outstanding contestants.
Adetshina’s stellar performance earned her admiration from judges and viewers worldwide. Her journey to the Miss Universe stage followed her controversial withdrawal from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest, where she faced nationality-related concerns. Despite this, she went on to win the title of Miss Universe Nigeria, representing Taraba State.
Adetshina’s achievement recalls the legacy of Agbani Darego, who became the first Black African to win Miss World in 2001, creating a lasting impact on Nigeria’s beauty and fashion scene.
