The festival prides itself on being an open-access platform, encouraging producers, culture advocates, exhibitors, and performers to showcase their existing or new works to a diverse audience, including local and international attendees, venue owners, curators, and art buyers.
Since its inception in 2018, Lagos Fringe has seen significant growth in performances, participants, and audience engagement, establishing itself as one of the largest outdoor festivals in West Africa. According to their official website, over the past seven years, the festival has impacted more than 5,000 young creatives, produced over 500 projects and events, entertained over 21,000 attendees, hosted more than 50 international guests, and employed over 70 personnel each year.
