Graham Potter Takes Responsibility for Chelsea’s Poor Form

-

Former Chelsea coach Graham Potter has publicly accepted responsibility for the club’s disappointing performance during his tenure.

In a statement shared via Fabrizio Romano’s X handle on Friday, Potter acknowledged, “I take responsibility for the results. But the easy assumption that if Chelsea aren’t winning, it must be the coach… he’s the problem, that might not be entirely correct, nor entirely wrong.”

Potter’s tenure at Chelsea saw him manage 12 wins, eight draws, and 11 losses across various competitions before his departure.

Appointed in September 2022 following Thomas Tuchel’s departure, Potter and his backroom staff, acquired from Brighton for approximately £21 million in compensation, signed a five-year contract. However, his tenure at Stamford Bridge was cut short, lasting just over six months.
