Nollywood actress and box office queen Funke Akindele has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her millions of fans for their overwhelming response to her latest project.
The movie star is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated film, *Everybody Loves Jenifa*. Recently, she shared a video featuring a playful tussle between the casts of *Everybody Loves Jenifa* and *A Tr!be Called Judah 2*, asking fans which film they would prefer to see in cinemas this December. To her delight, the overwhelming choice was *Everybody Loves Jenifa*.
Taking to her Instagram page, Funke shared photos of the cast and conveyed her appreciation: “WOW! We’re overwhelmed with love! Thank you to our amazing fans for the incredible response to our *Everybody Loves Jenifa* announcement video! Your kind words and excitement mean the world to us. Keep sharing the love! Don’t forget, the movie hits cinemas nationwide on December 13th!”
Just a week prior, Funke had celebrated the empowerment of 175 crew members who worked tirelessly for nine weeks to bring *Everybody Loves Jenifa* to life. In her post, she highlighted that the movie is a self-funded project and expressed pride in having empowered a team of talented individuals, with 95% being young people.
Funke Akindele continues to reign as the Queen of the Box Office, having made history in January as the first Nigerian filmmaker to gross over a billion naira at cinemas with her 2023 film, *A Tr!be Called Judah*, which earned over N1.4 billion. Her dedication and hard work have solidified her status as one of the most influential figures in Nollywood.
