Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has expressed his disappointment following his team’s 2-0 defeat to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. Goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie secured the win for Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.
Gundogan criticized his team’s performance, stating that they repeatedly made mistakes throughout the match. “It’s very disappointing,” he told TNT Sports, adding that despite having chances to score, City struggled defensively, with every attack from Juventus proving dangerous.
“We are a bit careless in the duels, and instead of playing simply, we overcomplicate things,” he continued. Gundogan highlighted that Juventus managed to break City’s rhythm with ease, leading to crucial moments where they failed to execute properly.
The loss leaves Manchester City sitting 22nd in the standings, outside the automatic qualification spots, a result that will further fuel their frustrations in the competition.
