FIFA Bans CSKA Moscow Over Ejuke’s Transfer

-

FIFA has imposed an 18-month transfer ban on Russian club CSKA Moscow due to unpaid transfer fees related to Nigeria winger Chidera Ejuke’s move to the club.

Ejuke joined CSKA Moscow from Dutch club Heerenveen in 2000, but CSKA still owes €3 million to Heerenveen for the transfer. FIFA stated that the ban would remain in effect until CSKA pays the outstanding amount.

Ejuke, who left CSKA on a free transfer this summer after a four-year spell, is now playing for Spanish club Sevilla. The ban adds to CSKA’s financial troubles and further complicates their ability to make new signings in the coming months.
