Popular Nigerian R&B singer, Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, shared that her rising fame has made it challenging for her to drive alone in Nigeria. During a recent podcast appearance on Big Boy TV in the United States, Tems explained that she now requires police escorts due to safety concerns from her growing popularity.
She recounted a near-mob experience while driving in Lagos last December, which prompted her to take additional security measures. “If I want to drive, I must have police escorts at the front and the back,” Tems explained, noting how fame has impacted her movements.
The artist also admitted that adjusting to the demands of celebrity life has been difficult, especially as an introvert, but she has since learned to cope.
