Adekoya Adesagba, Chairman of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), has issued a firm warning that those who assault the agency’s officers will face prosecution under existing laws. The statement, made in Ibadan and released by Commissioner for Information Dotun Oyelade, follows the arrest of Raheem Ridwan, accused of attacking an OYRTMA officer on September 19.
Adesagba emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for violence against traffic officers and called on the public to respect their efforts to ensure road safety. Ridwan, currently remanded, awaits trial in November 2024.
