The Coalition of Concerned Citizens of Kaduna State has rejected the planned October 1 protest, urging residents to prioritize peaceful dialogue over unrest. Speaking in Kaduna, coalition spokesperson Yusuf Lawal emphasized the need for constructive engagement, celebrating Nigeria’s independence rather than fostering disruption.
Lawal commended the government’s efforts, including the upcoming skill acquisition centres, and encouraged transparency in the process. He called for citizens to engage in local elections and advocate for positive change. Meanwhile, the police have increased security at potential hotspots as protest organizers remain resolute in their plans.
