Ondo Guber Election: PDP Accuses APC of Plotting to Compromise Saturday’s Poll

-

The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating a plan to manipulate the upcoming November 16 governorship election. According to a statement released by PDP’s state publicity secretary, Kennedy Peretei, the party alleged that APC chairman Ade Adetimehin is behind a scheme to infiltrate the electoral process.

Peretei claimed that Adetimehin submitted a list of two APC members per polling unit to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as potential presiding officers, bypassing the requirement for such appointees to undergo prior training.

In his statement, Peretei said, “Unfortunately, Ade Adetimehin has submitted names of untrained APC members to INEC to serve as presiding officers and assistant presiding officers, compromising the integrity of the process.”

In response, APC’s publicity secretary, Alex Kalejaye, dismissed the allegations as baseless, asserting that APC has worked diligently to earn public support. “It is not true. We have no reason to consider any undue means to win. We have campaigned across all 18 local government areas and are prepared for the election,” Kalejaye said.

Kalejaye highlighted APC’s numerous projects and outreach efforts across Ondo State, emphasizing that the party is relying on its performance to secure victory in a fair election.
