Ondo Election: Let Hunger and Anger Drive Change, Makinde Tells Electorates

-

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has called on residents to channel their hunger for change and anger at current governance into decisive action by voting. He described the election as a critical opportunity for Nigerians to demand better leadership.

In a statement released Thursday night titled “It’s Time to Make a Bold Statement,” Makinde encouraged citizens to turn out in large numbers to make their voices heard. He urged support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arguing that the party is well-equipped to address Nigeria’s economic challenges and deliver good governance.

 Key Highlights of Makinde’s Statement:
– Call for Action: “Let everyone in Ondo State come out this Saturday and say enough to the APC’s lack of people-centered policies. This election is a litmus test for Nigerians to show that hunger and anger can drive real change.”
– Endorsement of the PDP: Makinde cited the successes of PDP-led states in fostering development as evidence of the party’s capability to uplift Nigeria.
– Economic Outlook: Referring to Oyo State’s recently presented Budget of Economic Stabilisation, Makinde underscored the PDP’s commitment to prioritizing infrastructure, education, and economic progress.

He concluded with optimism, stating, “Better times await in 2025 if we make the right choices now.”

The Ondo governorship election is seen as a significant political event, with major parties vying to gain control of the state. Observers expect high voter turnout fueled by citizens’ desire for improved governance.
