Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has expressed his support for team captain Dani Carvajal following the defender’s season-ending ACL injury. Carvajal sustained the injury during Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory against Villarreal on Saturday after a collision with Yeremy Pino in the closing moments of the game.
The Spain international was visibly in pain and had to be stretchered off the pitch before being transported out of the stadium by ambulance. He now faces surgery and a lengthy recovery period.
In a message shared via *Madrid Xtra*, Ancelotti praised Carvajal’s resilience, highlighting his importance to the team. “Your energy and commitment are essential for this team. We know that you will overcome this challenge as you have always done, and that we will count on your support and help wherever you are. We look forward to seeing you, Dani. Good luck!” the Italian coach said.
Carvajal, a veteran of both Real Madrid and the Spanish national team, is expected to be out for several months as he recovers from the injury.
