The Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation has provided N40 million in grants to empower 80 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria, as part of its mission to support self-employed youth and boost the national economy.
At a grant ceremony held on October 5, 2024, in Lagos, notable figures such as Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma, Providus Bank Executive Director Adeoye Ojuroye, and other dignitaries attended. Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, the foundation’s founder, shared keys to entrepreneurial success with the beneficiaries and pledged ongoing mentorship, networking, and future support.
In addition to the grants, outstanding beneficiaries received N500,000 each for their exceptional products, and Blake Resort CEO Akunedozi announced an additional N2 million in support. Providus Bank also offered to feature beneficiaries in its SME programs and utilize their products and services.
President Koroma praised the foundation’s efforts, calling it a model of leadership that Africa needs. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and pledged to support the foundation’s orphanage projects.
