Midfielder Azeez Falolu secured a stoppage-time winner for Katsina United on Sunday, leading the Chanji Boys to a 2-1 victory over Bendel Insurance in their Nigeria Premier Football League clash at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
Bendel Insurance took the lead in the 17th minute through James Orosanye, but Katsina United responded five minutes later with an equalizer from Lookman Bello. As Bendel Insurance looked to secure a point, Falolu’s late goal in stoppage time completed the comeback, earning Katsina their first win of the season.
Insurance, who drew their opening match against Rivers United, now have just one point after two games.
Elsewhere, Akwa United rescued a point against Abia Warriors in Uyo thanks to a last-minute penalty by Eddidiong Ezekiel, while Bayelsa United drew 1-1 with Kano Pillars. Niger Tornadoes were held to a goalless draw by Nasarawa United.
