Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, expressed disappointment after meeting with Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate. The encounter took place in Benin City, Edo State, where the two exchanged pleasantries.
In a video shared from the meeting, Portable lamented that Obi did not give him any money, contrasting this with his belief that President Tinubu would have offered him cash. He remarked, “Obi cannot give us anything. If it was Tinubu we met, he would have given us something. Let’s go.”
Portable, known for his candid and often controversial comments, has met various influential figures since rising to fame. In 2022, he was gifted bundles of naira by the Ooni of Ife during a visit, and he’s had similar encounters with notable figures such as Fuji legend Kollington Ayinla and former NURTW chairman, MC Oluomo.
Portable’s bold statements continue to stir reactions, as fans and critics alike weigh in on his remarks following his meeting with Peter Obi.
