Nollywood actor Yul Edochie is under fire for seemingly trying to compete with his estranged wife, May Edochie.
A day after May’s viral video showing her flight to Dubai for a business trip, Yul posted a video with his wife, Judy Austin, at the Asaba airport about to board a local flight to Abuja.
“Asaba was good to us. We’re off. Back to base. Touchdown Abuja. ‘Odogwu awaa. Akpolum Ijelem waa’,” he captioned the post.
Many interpreted Yul’s post as an attempt to compete with May and criticized him in the comments.
One commenter wrote, “I did say he was going to post a video of him traveling after May’s video of her being in a plane. He’s so predictable and ridiculous.”
Another said, “May is going to Dubai. You’re going to Asaba. A win-win for all.”
Some accused Yul of trying to emulate May’s travels, with one commenter saying, “So because Queen May is always flying, you want to start flying too. Na wa o.”
This isn’t the first time Yul has been accused of competing with his wife. Last year, he faced criticism for unveiling his business with Judy Austin shortly after May launched her first business post-divorce.
The couple announced the launch of their Real Estate company, Isi Mmili Company, days after May launched her own perfume line and shampoo business.
Yul and May’s divorce saga has been public, with May filing for divorce citing adultery and getting full custody of their children. Yul has publicly countered May’s claims, accusing her of manipulating the public and undergoing cosmetic surgeries without his consent.
