Wike Urges Security Agencies to Take the War to Criminals

-

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has called on security agencies in Abuja to proactively combat criminal activities by taking the fight directly to criminals.

Key Points:

  • Wike’s Charge: While presenting 50 new operational vehicles to security agencies, Wike stressed that security is a top priority for the FCT Administration. He urged the agencies to prevent criminals from having any opportunity to strike, especially during the festive season.
  • Proactive Measures: “We must not give space, we must not allow the criminals to strike before we go in,” Wike emphasized, urging a strong, offensive approach.
  • Police Divisions: Wike revealed that 12 new police divisions are under construction across the six Area Councils of the FCT, as requested by the FCT Police Commissioner.
  • Community Support: The Minister also appealed to FCT residents to assist the security forces by reporting suspicious activities to help prevent security threats.

This initiative aims to strengthen security in the nation’s capital as part of ongoing efforts to tackle rising crime rates.
