The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has reaffirmed her commitment to addressing job racketeering and corruption within Nigeria’s civil service. Speaking during a press conference to mark her first 100 days in office, Walson-Jack emphasized that individuals who enter the civil service through fraudulent means will face strict sanctions.
She clarified that while recruitment falls under the purview of the Federal Civil Service Commission, the civil service actively supports efforts to maintain integrity in the system.
“Those who secure jobs through fraudulent means are sanctioned to deter others. The civil service collaborates with the Commission to ensure accountability,” she stated.
Addressing corruption, Walson-Jack highlighted the importance of a collective approach to combating the issue. She reiterated the civil service’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy on corruption.
“Corruption affects everyone and must be tackled from all angles. We are determined to reduce and ultimately eradicate corruption within the system,” she added.
The HCSF’s remarks underline her administration’s focus on restoring transparency and accountability in the Nigerian civil service.
