TAAG Angola Airlines has become a member of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), strengthening its position in the aviation industry. ALTA’s Executive Director, José Botelho, praised TAAG’s role in connecting Africa, Latin America, and Europe, highlighting the airline’s importance in facilitating transatlantic traffic for a wide range of passengers, including tourists and business travelers.
TAAG’s CEO, Nelson de Oliveira, emphasized that joining ALTA enhances the airline’s reputation and supports its long-term goal of capturing and facilitating traffic between the Americas and Africa through the Luanda Hub.
Connectivity between African and Latin American markets has surged in 2024, with a 108% increase in seat offerings and a 97% rise in flights compared to 2023. The partnership is expected to promote further growth in air travel between the two regions in the coming decades.
