Nigerian artist Skales has boldly stated that he played a pivotal role in inspiring Burna Boy’s rise to stardom. In an interview with Naija FM, Skales reflected on their collaboration in 2017 for the Temper Remix, claiming that before this, Burna Boy had not yet achieved major success with hit songs. Skales emphasized that their partnership helped set Burna Boy on the path to greater recognition.
Skales clarified that he does not wish to take credit for Burna Boy’s achievements but believes that their collaboration contributed to the latter’s breakthrough. He also acknowledged the mutual respect between them, with Burna Boy having inspired him in return. Skales said, “Nobody helps anybody; we admire each other and decide to work together.”
