Veteran rapper Ruggedman has come to the defense of afrobeats star Davido, who recently sparked controversy with his remarks on Nigeria’s struggling economy. Davido had warned American citizens against relocating to Nigeria, describing the country’s economic situation as being in “shambles” during a podcast interview.
Ruggedman, in his response, supported Davido’s assessment, stressing that the country’s issues cannot be resolved by merely criticizing celebrities. He called on the government to take action and improve the economy, so such negative comments would no longer be made in the future. The rapper, who expressed his frustration on social media, wrote, “All this barking all over the place is not fixing the nation. The hardship is too much.”
