Indigenous Nigerian rapper, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, widely known as Oladips, has passed away after a two-year battle with undisclosed personal challenges. The somber announcement was made on his Instagram page by his family, expressing shock at the sudden loss.
“We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode aka OLADIPS passed away yesterday NOV 14th Tuesday evening at exactly 10:14 pm. We are still in shock as we speak! For over 2 years he has kept his battles to himself, his body is now with his family, and funeral services will be announced as soon as it is concluded. The family asked that we respect their privacy in this trying time. May God give us all the fortitude to bear this great loss, amen.”
Oladips gained attention when he responded to Wizkid’s comments about rap music being dead and boring. The rapper, in a diss track, criticized Wizkid’s statement and urged him to keep quiet if he didn’t have anything positive to say about rap. Oladips also questioned Wizkid’s support for fellow rappers and raised concerns about the whereabouts of Wizkid’s signee, ‘Terri,’ in the music industry.
