Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, presented the state’s 2025 budget, totaling N390 billion, to the House of Assembly on Wednesday. During the presentation, he commended the lawmakers for their support and outlined key components of the budget, which includes a capital expenditure of N144.2 billion and a recurrent expenditure of N245.8 billion.
Governor Adeleke emphasized that the budget aligns with the Osun State Development Plan (2023–2050) and aims to meet residents’ needs through ongoing projects. He disclosed that N196 billion is expected from the federation account, with an additional N109.9 billion projected from independent sources.
Reviewing his administration’s achievements in 2024, Adeleke highlighted significant improvements in healthcare, infrastructure, and rural development. These efforts include reducing the rural health access gap by 40% through the rehabilitation of over 200 primary healthcare centers and increasing healthcare access for pensioners from less than 10% to 90%. Additionally, road infrastructure deficits were cut from 80% to 50%.
The governor pledged to continue implementing reforms to ensure efficient service delivery for Osun State residents.
