In a recent social media revelation, radio personality O.A.P. Dotun took to Instagram to address a concerning trend where couples going through separation involve their children in what he described as “dirty fights.”
Dotun expressed disapproval of using kids as pawns during conflicts between estranged partners. His comments were prompted by an interview video featuring Emeka Ike’s wife, Suzanne, and her son testifying against Emeka Ike.
The radio host criticized the decision to involve the child in airing personal grievances during a separation. While acknowledging Suzanne’s right to express herself, Dotun urged her to share the situation without involving her son. He emphasized the importance of upholding morals and ethics in such situations.
Dotun passionately conveyed his belief that using children as weapons in partner conflicts signifies a lack of love for them. He criticized the decision to expose the child to the interview, emphasizing that fighting dirty is acceptable, but using kids in the process is not.
He stated, “You can fight dirty if you care to but don’t ever use the kids. When you involve kids as a pawn to fight your partner, you don’t love them.”
This discussion emerged after Emeka Ike’s son made shocking statements about his father, revealing instances where he felt his father’s actions mirrored those directed at his mother during their separation. Emeka Ike’s brother also condemned the son’s actions, urging him to apologize privately instead of airing grievances publicly and highlighting challenges faced by men in Nigerian society.
