The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has cautioned corps members to respect the cultures and traditions of the communities where they are posted. He also advised them to avoid risky behaviors, such as traveling at night, which could expose them to danger.
Addressing corps members at the NYSC Edo and Delta State Orientation Camps, Ahmed emphasized the importance of prioritizing their welfare and security. He urged them to integrate into their host communities after leaving the camp and contribute meaningfully to national development through community projects.
He also warned against associating with bad influences and engaging in actions that could harm their future, reminding them of the sacrifices made by their parents.
The Edo State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Frances Ben-Ushie, reported that 1,287 corps members had been actively involved in various camp committees, contributing to the success of the orientation course. Similarly, Delta State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, noted that 1,577 corps members were fully engaged and disciplined during the camp activities.
