The leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Akwa Ibom State have expressed their condolences to Governor Umo Eno following the death of First Lady Pastor Patience Eno.
In separate messages issued on September 27, 2024, the NUJ, through Chairman Comrade Amos Etuk and Secretary Comrade Dominic Akpan, described the late First Lady as an extraordinary woman who positively impacted many lives through her pet project, the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA). They noted, “Her presence will be deeply missed, but her impact on the lives of many will never be forgotten.”
NAWOJ, represented by Chairperson Comrade Nsikak Okon and Assistant Secretary Comrade Mary Ekere, also paid tribute to Pastor Patience Eno, calling her “our mother” and lamenting the loss to the global community. They highlighted her unfulfilled aspirations for the state through her GIFA project, aimed at fostering peace and unity among families in Akwa Ibom.
Both organizations pledged to support the Governor and his family during this difficult time, offering prayers for strength and wisdom as they navigate their grief and the future of the state.
