Nigerian Chef Tope Maggie Allegedly Breaks Guinness World Record for Marathon Cooking

-

Temitope Adebayo, popularly known as Tope Maggie, has reportedly set a new Guinness World Record for marathon cooking, surpassing the previous record held by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.

In a celebratory TikTok video titled ‘The record is broken, congratulations to Nigeria, Oyo State, Chef Tope Maggie,’ Tope is seen surrounded by supporters cheering for his accomplishment.

Tope’s achievement is a notable win for Nigeria, reclaiming the title for the longest continuous cooking from Alan Fisher, who recently surpassed chef Hilda Bassey’s 93-hour record.

Tope Maggie, who studied Hotel Management at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, inherited the name ‘Maggie’ from his mother, who taught him the art of cooking. Currently managing a chain of restaurants in Ogbomoso, Tope’s culinary skills have brought recognition to Nigeria on the global stage.
