Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed Pastor Amako Maraya, in charge of the second Evangelical Church Winning All in Damakasuwa, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The assailants also abducted the pastor’s wife during the attack.
Ishaku Chinge, a resident and elder in the church, confirmed the incident, stating that the gunmen invaded the community around 11 p.m. on Friday. Chinge recalled a previous attempt by the gunmen to kidnap the pastor’s son, which was thwarted by the community about three months ago.
Yesterday, the gunmen returned, fatally shooting the pastor and abducting his wife. The attackers had allegedly demanded a ransom of N3 million in the morning, but no further communication has been received.
Residents are calling on security agencies and the government to assist in rescuing the traumatized widow. As of the time of reporting, the police have not responded to inquiries about the incident.
