Newly appointed Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, has pledged to deliver Kano State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. Speaking in Kano, Ata emphasized his focus on Kano Central, a pivotal region for the party. Although assigned to Housing and Urban Development, Ata stated he would balance ministerial duties with weekly visits to Kano to build local support for APC.
The former minister, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, criticized Ata’s appointment, arguing the slot should have gone to Nasiru Gawuna, APC’s 2023 governorship candidate for Kano. Despite political maneuvers that led to his dismissal, Gwarzo expressed ongoing support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
