Fulham manager Marco Silva has hailed Nigerian international Alex Iwobi as one of the club’s standout performers this season. Iwobi, who joined Fulham last season, has continued to impress, scoring two goals and registering two assists in 11 Premier League appearances this campaign. His latest contribution came in Fulham’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, where he assisted Harry Wilson’s goal.
Silva commended Iwobi for his consistency, noting that the Nigerian has been one of Fulham’s best players since pre-season. Silva’s decision to keep Iwobi in the starting lineup has sparked competition among players, with Adama Traoré and Reiss Nelson also vying for positions. Despite Wilson’s strong form, Silva emphasized that the team’s balance and form were key factors in the lineup decisions.
Iwobi will join Nigeria’s national team for the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
