Miners Applaud Soludo for Resuming Mining Activities in Anambra

-

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Mine Workers (NUMW), Anambra State Council, Kelvin Onyah, has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for lifting the suspension on mining activities in the state. Onyah also issued a stern warning to illegal miners, urging them to stay away from government-approved mining sites or face legal consequences.

Onyah emphasized that the warning is crucial to prevent unauthorized incursions into designated mining areas, thereby ensuring the safety of the environment and adherence to state regulations.

“The entire executive of the Nigeria Union of Mine Workers, Anambra State, expresses gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for reviewing the suspension of mining activities in the state,” Onyah stated.

He further cautioned NUMW members against engaging in illegal mining, underscoring the requirement for registration and the acquisition of a mining certificate before participating in any mining activities.

Onyah noted that Governor Soludo has begun issuing operational licenses to officially recognized operators, aiming to maintain peace and order at all approved mining sites.
