The legal representative of activist Verydarkman has disclosed the individuals responsible for his arrest and provided insights into the reasons for his continued detention.
Following allegations of cyberbullying, Verydarkman was reportedly arrested on Friday, prompting his lawyer to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his client’s predicament.
According to the lawyer, the individuals who instigated Verydarkman’s arrest are the same ones who filed a petition against him the previous year. Specifically, Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and Samklef were named as the initiators of the arrest.
The lawyer revealed that these individuals filed separate petitions with various policing agencies, all of which have summoned Verydarkman for questioning.
Furthermore, the lawyer explained that Verydarkman was asked to provide a civil servant as a surety, with varying levels of civil servants demanded for this purpose.
Expressing confidence in the professionalism of the police to grant his client bail, the lawyer warned of potential legal action if bail is denied. He emphasized Verydarkman’s right to peaceful protest, both online and offline, within the bounds of the law.
Lastly, the lawyer conveyed Verydarkman’s gratitude for the support he has received and reiterated their commitment to handling the case diligently.
