The Kwara State Police Command has paraded six suspects, including three men arrested in connection with the brutal murder of 34-year-old Rafiu Alao. On November 7, 2024, Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya disclosed that Peter Samuel, Jeremiah Tiozinda, and Sunday Agbenke were apprehended for allegedly killing Alao and severing his head in Asunlere community, Oke Oyi, Ilorin, on November 4, 2024.
Upon investigation, police found the decapitated body near a stream, and evidence suggested a violent attack around the victim’s neck. Detectives recovered an Android phone and a motorcycle at the crime scene. The suspects were tracked down in the early hours of November 6.
The police also paraded Yusuf Abdulkareem, 22, and Jaiyeola Fatai, 40, who, along with others still at large, allegedly attacked an innocent farmer wrongly accused of Alao’s murder, damaging his car in the process. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
