Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, is commemorating the posthumous birthday of Davido’s first son, Ifeanyi, whom he shared with his wife, Chioma.
The toddler tragically drowned on October 31st, just a few days after his third birthday. He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
It was reported that Davido and Chioma had traveled to Ibadan for a family gathering, leaving Ifeanyi in the care of his minders. They couldn’t explain how he entered the pool unnoticed and drowned.
One year has passed since Ifeanyi’s passing, and Kemi Olunloyo marks what would have been his 4th birthday today.
Taking to her Instagram page, Kemi recounted the details of Ifeanyi’s tragic demise, and she revealed that to this day, the estate denies that he drowned on their property, and he was secretly buried.
Kemi wrote:
“OCTOBER 20th, 2019
David Adeleke’s 4th child, Ifeanyi, would have been 4 years old today. The child reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at his rented Banana Island home on Halloween, October 31, 2022. The estate, however, still denies until today that no one drowned on any property in their estate. The child was secretly buried in an unknown location.”
Despite the sadness of Ifeanyi’s passing, Davido and Chioma have new reasons for joy as they welcomed twins this month.
Davido hinted at the birth of his twins, describing it as the best week of his life. A video surfaced of Chioma and Davido leaving the hospital with their twins.
Confirming the news at an event, Davido revealed the exciting news and noted that the twins were born in the same month as his late son, Ifeanyi.
In the meantime, Kemi Olunloyo, who also confirmed the rumors, shared further details about the twins’ birth. She disclosed that Chioma delivered the twins, a boy and a girl, on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, US, through cesarean operation (CS) at 38 weeks.
