Renowned Nigerian singer Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has expressed admiration for Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, highlighting their strong professional relationship stemming from their collaboration in the sitcom Jenifa’s Diary and the upcoming project Everybody Loves Jenifa.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Falz praised Funke Akindele as one of the most hardworking entertainers he has encountered. He recounted how she reached out to him, inviting him to join the cast of *Jenifa’s Diary*, a project that had not yet come to fruition at that time.
Falz stated:
“I remember Funke Akindele, a big shout out to her, by the way; she had reached out to me maybe by Instagram or something, saying she had seen some of those videos. Yeah, and she had something she was working on. Yeah, she’d like me to be a part of it. There was no *Jennifer’s Diary*; the diary didn’t exist. I don’t think I’ve ever crossed paths with any other entertainer in this country. Yes, that is more hard-working than she is.”
Recently, Funke Akindele also opened up about her struggles before achieving stardom. In a video shared on her Instagram, she showcased her active involvement on the set of her latest hit movie, A Tribe Called Judah, which addresses the challenges faced by single mothers in raising their children.
She reflected on her journey, considering herself a testament to the power of self-belief despite the various challenges she faced. Funke encouraged her followers to continue inspiring the next generation of women, emphasizing the importance of resilience and empowerment.
