“How a Popular Musician Lavished Almost N1.5 Billion on a Maybach, Jewelry, and Shopping Spree” – Ali Baba Reveals

Published

Legendary Nigerian comedian Ali Baba recently disclosed how a popular musician reportedly spent over N1.5 billion on a lavish lifestyle during an interview with the Eden Oasis Realty podcast. Although he chose not to reveal the musician’s identity, Ali Baba provided shocking details of the extravagant spending.

In the interview, he explained that the musician was paid N400 million for a performance in Dubai and an additional N500 million for another international gig. Within just a few months, the artist splurged the earnings on a Maybach, another luxury car, extravagant jewelry, and a significant shopping spree. Ali Baba emphasized that this lifestyle choice came at a considerable cost, as the musician could have opted to invest the funds in more sustainable ventures, such as purchasing land, building a recording studio for upcoming artists, or even constructing an event center.

Ali Baba remarked, “I told a musician, a very top musician, if he hears this, he would know I am talking about him. He went to play in Dubai; they paid him nearly N400 million; then he played in another International event and earned about N500 million. The next thing, he has a Maybach, another car, and goes on a spree with jewelry and all other things. In less than two to six months, he has spent about 1.5 billion.”

He continued, “He would have bought land, created a venue, and built a powerful studio upstairs. People would come to record, and the venue would generate enough revenue to buy anything he desires. Instead, when it came time for him to get married, he had to rent a hall when he could have built his own.”

Ali Baba also commented on the difficulties faced by artists like Asake when seeking financial support for their projects. He recounted how Asake applied for a loan of N1 billion to organize a concert in London but was denied. In contrast, he highlighted how a car dealer could easily secure a loan for importing luxury cars.

The comedian also critiqued the Nigerian entertainment industry, pointing out that many Nollywood actresses flaunt wealth that seems disproportionate to their earnings from acting. He recounted an encounter with an actress in Dubai who was sponsored for her stay but portrayed it online as if she had paid for it herself.

In a broader discussion about life choices, Ali Baba urged individuals to avoid being recruited to harm others, emphasizing that only a fool inherits someone else’s enemies as a sign of loyalty.
