Duane “Keefe D” Davis, a 60-year-old former gang leader allegedly involved in the murder of Tupac Shakur, entered a not guilty plea in a US court on Thursday.
Davis faced charges in September 2023 following a confrontation with Tupac at a casino, with police asserting that he conspired in the shooting with his late nephew, Orlando Anderson.
During the court proceedings in Las Vegas, Davis denied the murder accusation. When District Judge Tierra Jones asked for his plea, Davis replied, “Not guilty.”
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson explained after the hearing, “We talked about it, and I determined that it’s not a case in which we should seek the death penalty. What we care about is presenting the evidence to a jury, so that the jury can make the ultimate decision.”
