Folakemi Falana, daughter of prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, has issued a legal threat to social media critic VeryDarkMan for allegedly defamatory remarks against her family. In an Instagram post on Friday, she denied accusations of bribery and corruption involving her father and brother, singer Falz.
This controversy escalated following the sentencing of crossdresser Bobrisky to four months in prison for abusing the Nigerian currency. VeryDarkMan recently released a leaked voice recording in which Bobrisky purportedly claimed that Falz sought a presidential pardon for him through Femi Falana and that a settlement of N10 million was discussed.
Falz responded to these allegations, clarifying that Bobrisky only contacted him for financial assistance to secure a VIP spot in the Correctional Centre. He, along with his father, demanded that VeryDarkMan retract his statements within 24 hours.
In a video response, VeryDarkMan defended his actions, asserting he did not defame the Falana family but merely shared the leaked audio.
Folakemi expressed her disappointment at the situation, highlighting her family’s longstanding commitment to providing free legal assistance for presidential pardons. She criticized VeryDarkMan for his accusations, particularly concerning Falz, and firmly stated, “For seeing as you have refused to do the needful, #verydarkblackman see you in court.”
