Flamingos Start Final Preparations for U17 Women’s World Cup in Dominican Republic

The Nigerian Flamingos have commenced the first phase of their final preparations for the 8th FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3, 2024. Head coach Bankole Olowookere has called up 35 players for this initial camp.

The team, which impressed during the qualifiers with a total of 25 goals across six matches, includes standout players like Harmony Chidi, who scored 13 goals in the qualifiers, and Peace Effiong. Other notable invitees are team captain Taiwo Afolabi, goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma, and defender Prisca Nwachukwu.

The U17 Women’s World Cup will be held in Santiago de los Caballeros and Santo Domingo, offering the Flamingos a platform to showcase their talent on a global stage.
