Five men appeared in court on Monday in connection with the theft of a truckload of Milo products valued at ₦25 million in Ogun State.
The accused individuals—Temidire Ramon (35), Aminu Yusuf (26), Olusola Opadare (35), Oludayo Adeleye (38), and Amodu Jimoh (51)—are standing trial for stealing and conspiring to commit theft.
According to Inspector E.O. Adaraloye, the prosecutor, the theft occurred on October 13, 2020, in Agbara, Ogun State. The stolen truckload of Milo products belonged to Nestlé Nigeria.
Adaraloye stated that their actions violated Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006. The defendants pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. O.A. Onagoruwa, granted each defendant bail in the amount of ₦500,000, with two sureties required per defendant.
Key conditions for the bail include:
- The sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
- The sureties must present evidence of gainful employment.
- Evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State Government must be provided.
The case has been adjourned to December 12, 2024, for a formal hearing.
