Popular chef Damilola Adeparusi, widely known as Chef Dammy, has reportedly been granted bail after being invited by men from the Police AIG Zone 17 in Akure, Ondo State. The invitation came in response to a petition purportedly filed against her by her pastor, Adegoke Jeremiah.
On Thursday, November 23, Chef Dammy, who sought to break the Guinness World Record, was invited by the police. The spokesperson for AIG Zone 17, DSP Hakeem, confirmed the invitation, stating that they received a petition against the chef.
Chef Dammy reportedly accepted the offer on the afternoon of November 23 and was subsequently granted administrative bail after presenting a guarantee. DSP Hakeem emphasized that she is not in police custody and was not detained.
Earlier on Thursday, there were unverified claims circulating that Chef Dammy had been arrested by the police at AIG Zone 1 in Akure. These claims prompted concerns, with some alleging corruption within the police station.
A Twitter user with the username @YemieFash raised the alarm, urging Chef Dammy’s family to speak out to ensure justice for the chef. It’s worth noting that Chef Dammy had recently disclosed unsettling information about the pastor who funded her cook-a-thon competition, stating that the pastor should be held liable if anything harmful happens to her.
