Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, the wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has passed away.
Ini Ememobong, the state’s Commissioner for Information, confirmed her death in a statement released early Friday. The First Lady died on September 26, 2024, at a hospital, with her family by her side.
The statement, titled “Unexpected Sunset,” expressed deep sorrow over the loss. “With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, the beloved wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, following an illness,” it read.
“She passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on September 26, 2024,” the statement continued. The family has requested prayers and privacy during this time of mourning, adding that further details will be shared when necessary.
Governor Umo Eno expressed his gratitude to those who have supported the family during this period and assured the public that despite this personal tragedy, his dedication to the state’s service remains firm.
